Managing Wellbeing in the Workplace

It’s not exaggerating to state that there is a hell of a lot going on in the world at the moment. As we all now navigate the “traffic light” system, a further period of adjustment and change, it would be understandable if people feel ‘over it’.
Now more so than ever we need kindness and understanding to rule in our home and work lives. I appreciate this is easier said than done; especially when you’re also raising children and supporting loved ones whose health is vulnerable, and where you’re livelihood has been affected by the restrictions that are in place to protect us against COVID-19.
There are a plethora of online tools to support mental wellbeing – a small sample of locally designed support and resources include:
- Mementia – seeks to normalise mental wellbeing in workplaces; to support organisations to function positively and proactively with regard to wellbeing and to enable leaders to better lead and curate wellbeing in their places of work.
- Mental Health Foundation – Five Ways to Wellbeing, a framework that is scientifically proven to increase wellbeing.
- Wellplace – from the Health Promotion Agency and covering physical and mental wellbeing
