A confession – I am a world class procrastinator. I’ve had years of practice and have perfected the skill. The pantry will only ever be spring cleaned when there is something else I should be doing.
Yesterday, rather than update cash flow forecasts, plan for Alert Level 3, investigate client needs for the new world order, individually check in with each of my team, sort all our back of house systems, communicate leadership and vision, determine some brilliant millionaire making pivot plan and just be plain awesome – I cleaned the fridge.
Today is a new day and I will try again to be a focused genius. Until that moment arrives here is some guidance on employees who may be reluctant to return to work. The vast majority of employees I have heard about have been incredibly flexible and understanding, and get that businesses need to make money so they can keep their job. Unfortunately there are a small minority, some out of genuine concern and some not so, who will resist your efforts to get them back working. Click here for a few Q&As for managing these situations.
In my defence the fridge did need cleaning and that is where the wine was, so…. Time now to go and admire my clean fridge and reward myself for writing this Newfeed. After that I will work on that million dollar pivot idea.
