Does your workplace’s risk/hazard register identify the potential risks to health and safety of unacceptable behaviours e.g. bullying, discrimination or harassment? One control you might include could be to review with your staff and make available to them, WorkSafe New Zealand’s guides and information about these behaviours and how to prevent and respond to them at work.
In March 2017 WorkSafe New Zealand released updated guides and forms for preventing and responding to bullying at work. These replace the earlier guide, released in February 2014.
The new guides are more aligned to the new health and safety legislation, and have been customised for both PCBUs and workers. You can find out more about the new guides here.
