Public Holidays this Christmas & New Year

This year is slightly unusual, particularly for any Monday to Friday operations, in that the statutory holidays, or at least the day they are being recognised on, means the holidays can appear back-to-front.

Boxing Day holiday (26 December) is on a Monday in 2016, and will be followed by the Christmas Day statutory holiday (on Tuesday 27 December 2016). The same will apply the following week with the New Year’s Day statutory holiday falling on Tuesday 3 January 2017 as the day afer New Years Day falls on the Monday.
