Client Profile - Supreme Biotechnologies Limited

One of the things I really enjoy about my job is to have the opportunity to visit a client’s site and learn about the fascinating things they do.  Recently I visited Supreme Biotech in Richmond who specialise in the production of bioactive compounds derived from micro-algae.  

You may be familiar with their AstaSupreme brand and products.  Their manufacturing site and algae farm are located in Nelson because of the long sunny days, pure water, and proximity to world class research and extraction facilities.  On my tour I got to walk around the bubbling green and red tubes in their factory, which seemed quite surreal.  I was also shown some of the laboratory processes that are required to produce their final products; a range of dietary supplements containing astaxanthin which is considered a super-antioxidant.  Please see their website for a brief overview of the products www.astasupreme.co.nz

It is very exciting to meet local people developing their ideas into a successful enterprise, with products that are then recognised, and compete, in an international market.  I feel really lucky to work with these amazing businesses to support them in their endeavours.
